Book Reviews and Recommendations

I really have no particular style or preference of reading genre.  If it is written well, I will read it. Mostly I read about things

that are a part of my life at the moment. So if you notice throughout my life there are cycles and topics of books that I have read.

I know it may seem a bit obsessive compulsive but when I am into it, I am going to get as much as I can of that particular topic or theme. Here are a listing of the books I have read in the over the years with my rating system. But not until now, have I actually started reviewing the books I have read. If a particular book didn't get a review, don't jump to any conclusions, basically I just started reviewing them. The Asterisk * represents how many stars I give the book and recommended reading. 5 Stars are the highest. For those that don't have stars in from 1999 - 2001, I didn't start rating my books as of then.

Reviews

They Call Me Baba Booey - By Gary Dell-Abate - ***

I started this book with excitement as I am a huge fan of the Howard Stern Show. You may ask how can that be? Simply put, Howard is an honest, straight forward individual and I find it refreshing in the world we live in. You may or may not like him, but at least you know who you are dealing with. He is also one of the best if not the best interviewer of all time.

So my excitement of Gary's book stemmed from me being a fan of the show. When purchasing the book, I had hoped for more on Gary as Howard's producer. I wasn't looking for a tell all about Howard Stern, in fact, I wasn't looking for much of that at all. I liked how Gary told us about his upbringing and his struggles, I even liked the information about his family. I just think it could have been condensed down to two chapters. I want to know more about Gary as a producer what he deals with in his job, life, etc. I would have liked to know more about his goals, his personal life as a business man, his job and what it entails.

Most of the book fell short in those Categories. I recommend this book if you are a fan of the show and if you are looking to read a good Autobiography from what it seems to me after reading this book, an ordinary guy. Gary don't get me wrong, I like you more now then ever, but I wanted to know more about what makes you tick. Allie Alberigo - AllieAlberigo.com

"We are Warriors -Insights to Personal Success"  by Marin "Wade" Bartel

I have read self help books and motivational books for my entire life. This particular book I found very interesting and insightful. I guess I liked it so much because the Author Wade Bartel is a martial artist and he takes he point of view like he studies and teaches the martial arts. I found it to be a great read. Pick it up.

Charlaine Harris

I could start by introducing you to her work, but in recent years, she needs no introduction. I started reading her books, after I watched the first season of True Blood on HBO. As you are aware I am sure, Charlaine wrote all the books that the T.V. Series is based on. I wanted to say loosely based on, but it does follow the plot line and many of the characters.

With Vampires being the rage - RE: Twilight, True Blood etc. This entire series gets ***** Five Stars from me. Mrs. Harris' writing style is one that truly makes you want to drop the rest of your life and do nothing but settle into a couch and read, read, read some more. I loved the characters and the culture she developed throughout the book series. It is said "that the movies never compare to the books." Well, the series was amazing, but left me feeling short changed, after reading her books. The books are truly that great. Go buy them now.

Shark Tales

By Barbara Cochoran

I discovered Barbara on the hit Television show "Shark Tank." I particular love the show and she stands out as one of the millionaire investors. Barbara always seems to be geniune, honest and caring, so when I saw she had a book I immediately downloaded it to my IPAD. I read the book in two days. I personally loved how she turned her personal upbringing into life lessons for the readers. I have recommended it to a ton of people and they also loved it. If you are interested in finding out how people becoming highly successful and to listen to their personal journey, then this is a book you will love.

Although Allie hasn't kept up with logging all the books he has read, you can get an idea of his growth and development through the prior books listed. However, he has read almost 400 books since his last log entry.  If you want information do not hesitate to email him at the email listed below.
